I have been a global traveller since 1962-1963 when I studied in Fribourg, Swisse political philosophy. After college I joined the US Peace Corps and lived in Sarawak, Malaysia working in Education. After Graduate School at the U. of Chicago:SSA I started on a larger joureny to Africa and India and was in the Bangalore area from 1973 to 1979; returing in 1984-1985. In 2004 I started on the journey that I am on now going to India, Kathmandu, Nepal and Sihanoukville, Cambodia. I did a lot of reading, visiting, learning and speculating. Now I am on an island called Koh Samui in Thailand. This is a "taking time out" from these travels to check and make sure that I know what I am doing and where I am going. Blogging, for me, is a writing practice to help me get at some of the more subtle influences in my life. I also work on national security issues because, especially after the financial crisis, new forces want to come to the fore. This is creating a
shift in security at an unwanted time. Here on Koh Samui it is peaceful and quiet but not necessarily secure. Take care, Karen M. Krueger
